Danny is currently working with Professor Juan Alfonzo at Brown University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Danny's work centers on how tRNA modifications can affect translational fidelity in the mitochondrion of Trypanosoma brucei.

Before diving into the world of trypanosomes, Danny trained as a chemical biologist at Academia Sinica and Yale University under the guidance of Professors Yane-Shih Wang and Dieter Söll. His work focused on developing polyspecific aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases as powerful tools to better understand enzyme biochemistry and protein post-translational modifications.
